Cumberland’s field hockey team has spent the past week showing how much it can do with one goal. The Clippers shut out Classical 1–0 on Friday, then traveled to South Kingstown on Wednesday and earned another 1–0 win over a division rival. Tessa Nicastro scored the winner against the Rebels, while Emma Maccio made four saves to finish the shutout. It was Cumberland’s second win over South Kingstown this season, giving the Clippers a meaningful boost as the division race takes shape.

Now comes a quick turnaround. Lincoln visits Tucker Field tonight, and Cumberland will have to bring that same focus back onto its home turf. The Lions have already shown they can score, including a 3–1 win over Lincoln School earlier this month. Cumberland has shown it can win when every possession matters.

For the Clippers, this is a chance to carry Wednesday’s momentum into another division matchup: stay organized, make their chances count, and give the home crowd another game worth talking about.

JV is scheduled for 5 p.m., followed by varsity at 6:15 p.m.
