There will be little time for Cumberland field hockey to reset following Tuesday night’s matchup at Barrington. The Clippers are scheduled to travel to South Kingstown on Wednesday for the second half of a challenging back-to-back road stretch.
South Kingstown has also played competitive field hockey throughout the opening weeks, making Wednesday another important measuring stick for Cumberland. The Clippers’ depth, conditioning and ability to maintain their structure will be tested after playing less than 24 hours earlier.
Handling the quick turnaround will require a full-team effort. Cumberland will look to protect possession, avoid unnecessary defensive pressure and take advantage of its opportunities in the attacking circle. Managing energy without sacrificing aggressiveness could become one of the game’s deciding factors.
Varsity is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., with the JV matchup listed for 5:45 p.m. at South Kingstown.
