Cumberland had one more regular-season statement to make Thursday. A 3–0 win over East Greenwich delivered it.

Against a fifth-place opponent with ten wins entering the night, the Clippers put together a complete performance from start to finish, closing their regular season at 13–1–2 and carrying another strong result into the Division I playoffs.

There was no deficit to erase this time. Cumberland stayed in command, supplied three goals and kept East Greenwich off the scoreboard. Against a team firmly in the upper half of the division, that combination carries weight.

Shea Maher scored with an assist from Ava Batalau, Olivia Lyon found the net with Sofia Coburn supplying the assist, and Kenzie Ferrer scored off an assist from Maher. Three finishes, with the work to create them sharing its place in the result.

The Avengers entered at 10–5–0 and finished the night at 10–6–0. This was a quality opponent, and the Clippers handled the challenge with the kind of performance that gives a team confidence heading into elimination games.

Cumberland sits second in the standings behind 11–1–3 La Salle, despite having beaten the Rams on their own field earlier this season. With Lincoln, North Kingstown and East Greenwich also among the division’s leading teams, the postseason offers plenty of competition. Thursday supplied another reason to put Cumberland firmly in that championship conversation.

Cumberland heads into the Division I playoffs looking like a team hitting its stride at the right time. Carrying Thursday’s complete effort into the postseason could put the Clippers in position for a deep run.

The regular season ended with a strong finish.
