The North Cumberland Middle School boys soccer team will head to Central Falls on Monday night with an opportunity to improve its perfect record to 4–0. The North Stars will meet the Calcutt Braves at Louis C. Yip Field in a matchup that looks much closer than the records may suggest.

North Cumberland has been dialed in from the opening whistle of the ’26 campaign. A 3–0 start has put the North Stars in a strong early position, but the next challenge is maintaining the same focus, effort and attention to detail that helped build that record in the first place.

Across the field, Calcutt enters at 0–2. That record, however, is not a reflection of the Braves’ effort. Both losses were hard fought, and Calcutt has shown it can make an opponent work for everything. North Cumberland cannot afford to look at the standings and expect an easy night.

Early success brings a different kind of test. The North Stars are no longer trying to find their footing—they are trying to protect the standard they have already established. Staying composed, communicating and playing disciplined soccer will be important on the road.

A win would move North Cumberland to 4–0 and keep the early-season momentum rolling. More importantly, Monday night gives the North Stars another chance to show that their perfect start is being built one focused performance at a time.
