Ilirian Xhuli scored twice, Travis Dutch and Jake Hosney each added one, and Ben Batalau, Dylan Ferreira, Adam Toledo, and Logan Pistorio anchored a shutout effort.
Four goals get the noise, but it was the complete performance—both ends working together—that stood out.
Now comes Broad Rock Middle School of South Kingstown in Thursday’s quarterfinal.
There’s some history there—North Cumberland has ended Broad Rock’s run twice in quarters, Broad Rock has taken two semis from the North Stars, and the Stars also beat them in a semi on the way to a championship.
Win Thursday and it’s on to the semifinals, then the state title game if they advance.
Right now, though, the focus is simple: keep that connected soccer and carry it into Thursday’s test.
Keep building. Play for each other. Finish the job.
