Three matches in three nights left Cumberland with one more chance to answer Thursday. They were back on the floor at Cranston West and closed it out, 3–1. Earlier in the week they’d swept Chariho, then stumbled at Classical. For a group that strung together seven straight earlier this season, the task now is carrying that level through the final stretch.

One adjustment showed up immediately. Ten service errors at Classical dropped to six against West, even with an extra set, while they still delivered thirteen aces. Bowie Legend put all fifteen of her serves in play and picked up four aces, and then stayed involved in the rallies with seven kills and ten digs.

Lyla Parmentier spread thirty-three assists around. Darryl Ashilaka turned opportunities into sixteen kills on efficient swings, and Jolee Farquharson finished nine more at a .500 clip. That helped take the first two sets. West answered in the third. Cumberland still had to do the work.

Gulianna Hasenfus had eleven digs, more came from Legend and Parmentier, and Ashley Asermely added three solo blocks plus two assists. The contributions piled up until they found their finish in the fourth. It brought them to 11–5 and gave shape to a week that swung from a sweep to a setback to this response.

After Monday’s rematch with Cranston West, the Clippers head into a final stretch built for growth. Lincoln brings an eleven-win résumé and a rivalry edge. East Providence and North Kingstown already handed them tough results. Win or loss, that’s the kind of competition you want right before the playoffs, and exactly what should help them build.
